For wireless communication equipment exported to the South African market, it is necessary to apply for model certification to the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA). This is equivalent to the domestic network access model approval application for South Africa ICASA certification, it should be noted that the ICASA certification can only be issued to the local registered company or representative office in South Africa, so it is best for domestic manufacturers to apply for ICASA by local importers, but the test can be Completed in the country.

ICASA certified program
Prepare documents to be submitted, including application forms, test reports, declaration of conformity, customs clearance (LOA)
Contact the local office in South Africa;
Submit a license application form to ICASA;
Delivery of certification fees;
Obtain a type certificate.
ICASA Certification Considerations
1. English test report (RF, EMC and security) issued by qualified laboratories. The submitted documents must be in PDF format or burned to CD. ICASA does not accept the original report. Its testing requirements for wireless products such as mobile phones are basically consistent with CE certification.
About application and fees
The application form must be completed and signed. When submitting the application form, you must also attach a remittance receipt for the application fee.
Need to prepare technical documents for submission
Book specifications, circuit schematics, PCB layout, component location maps, block diagrams, technical manuals, device photos, and more.
The model approval certificate is only issued to a local registered company or organization in South Africa. Therefore, information such as the company registration number, address, and telephone number is also required.
The model approval of the mobile phone, in addition to all relevant reports, the importer also needs to provide "Proof of Origin" and a declaration of the stolen goods that the mobile phone is not stolen (applicant's corporate letter format)
